[it's a nicely resigned tone because he's already had his freak out, and, other than tiring himself out, it hadn't changed a thing.]

I dunno, do you like the idea of anything that could cause a mass hallucination like that?

[Well, resignation is better than panic — though not by much. Still, at least Peter is calm; that's a good thing.]

[There are so many things he could (and does) mean by that statement; he's leaving it open to Peter's interpretation to steer the threads of their conversation.]

Well, no. But I don't like anything about this place.

[other than getting to meet people from other worlds. but he'd much rather do that back home than here.]

I'm okay though. Just...annoyed.

The air is clear.

[It's a small thing, the lack of air pollution, and Bucky really isn't sure it's a good thing. But it is nice to be without the smog for a little while, and to enjoy clear skies at night.]

I wish I had answers. I think we all probably do.

[that manages to push a snort of laughter out of him, his expression a little fonder than it'd been a moment ago.]

You know, I've lived in New York my entire life. Clean air feels weird.

[he shakes his head at that. close, but not quite.]

Nope. Queens. Might not be the friendliest place out there, but it's home.

Oh, Queens.

[It's said with an exaggerated groan, one that's meant to be taken lightly.]

[See, isn't this better than being depressed or annoyed?]

Yeah, well, we can't all be perfect. But I'll forgive you this time.

[he leans closer to the shard to whisper an added-]

Yeah, we can call it that. Sure.

[It almost feels natural, this sort-of verbal sparring. Almost feels like it's something he does all the time — or maybe something he used to do and is starting to remember.]

Seriously though Queens, you do any exploring of this yet?

[hope you don't get motion-sickness, bucky. because it's time for the image to spin suddenly as he turns his shard round to get a shot of the tops of the other buildings. yes, he's sat on the roof right now.]

There are people in most of the buildings, so I didn't want to just...walk in.

[Whoa okay hello that certainly is some swinging scenery there. But at least it's a circular motion and not falling, that certainly helps.

And seeing the actual layout of their surroundings does help too.]

[okay so maybe it was more a case of managing to catch him and falcon off-guard. but he's not going to admit to that.]
