Hi!

How's everybody doing today?

[Monika just stares at the shard, smile on her face.

Gosh, she sure hopes people answer her. Otherwise this would be pretty awkward!]

...yeah, kind of.

[More than kind of, but once upon a time, she wanted to be useful and be a good knight to the King, and then some stuff happened. So she definitely knows what that's like even if she won't completely own up to it.]

Then just do what you can, and work on doing more. I guess?

[She looks about as unsure as she sounds since she has no idea what this girl would even take to, so she can't really suggest what more would be. And not everybody's her that can take to being a knight like a fish to water.]

Might be obvious, but I'm not really good at talking to people about things like this. Don't have a lot of practice with it.

[Which is something she might want to think about for if...no when she gets to draw that stupid sword and become King. Get better at encouraging people and helping them find direction. Or get someone who's good at doing that. That works too.]

That's okay! I really appreciate that you're even talking to me like this. And it says a lot that it's taking you out of your comfort zone, too.

And I'm willing to think that's going to be true for everyone here, including me.

So in a way, we're starting out the same, ahaha.

[She honestly has no idea how Monika can be so upbeat and cheerful in this face of all this nonsense. But she's never really gotten why people can be like that. Some people just are, she guesses. Monika, that Rider back home, she's not going to try and figure that one out either.]

You're probably on to something here. I know I'd feel a lot more comfortable kicking the crap out of whatever brought us here instead of dealing with all this.

[That's apparently her comfort zone.]

Not really an "ask questions first" kind of person, are you?

The hell kind of questions would I even ask someone like that?

[Her assessment's not wrong though. Mordred's definitely not the type to ask things first.]

Trust me, I get my hands on them, they'll be giving us all that information. Probably won't even have to ask.

And that just makes me even more glad that I'm not on your bad side.

Normal people don't really get on my bad side.

[The ones that did in Camelot ended up dead, but that was her following orders. Other than that, she doesn't really vent her anger at normal people. She's going to be King someday, so those are her future subjects and she should treat them fairly! Or try to at least.]

Whatever brought us here though, that's on my bad side because no way in hell is it anything normal.

I'd agree with you there. I really wonder what it is that brought us here.

Beats me, I've a list of what it's probably not, but that helps less than you'd think.

[Turns out she actually doesn't know that much about things that can do something like this. She wasn't terribly happy when she realized this and still isn't.]

At least it shows that you're organized! A list can be more helpful than you think!

I'm not usually the one who makes stuff like that. It's usually someone else's job.

[Her Master's. And then in Camelot, Agravain's. You'd think a knight would hate paperwork, but Agravain was like an office worker born centuries too soon.]

I could do that for you here, if you'd like! I ran a club back in school, so I'm actually pretty good at keeping myself organized.
